Here at Nakedkitties we compost all our pet poo and litter. We are trying to help save the earth. Every year 5 times as much cat litter gets thrown away than baby diapers. I have two composting units. The first one is the stacking trays. This I keep in the bathtub of the kitty litterbox bathroom. It requires worms, and I know at this point you are ready to say forget it. But, I assure you that it is painless. There is not smell, mess or excaping worms. They are not going anywhere with all that yummy poo in there. The second composter is the Naturemill electric compost unit. I keep this baby outside my backdoor. You just step on the foot pedal and dump everything in there. I also compost other household waste in this one. The only disadvantage being price. I find it to be worth the cost or more. It uses as much electricity as a night light. No green home should be without this one. The only thing you need to do with either is to use organic litter. My two favorites are "Worlds Best Cat Litter" and "Swheat Scoop". They both compost very well.
